This Partner Program client is a medium sized manufacturing business making blow and injection moulded plastic bottles. They operate 24 hours per day, 5 days per week. Their products are distributed nationally.

The main hazards in this workplace include machines used to manufacture the bottles, use of mobile plant, manual handling and traffic management type hazards.

The client does not have a dedicated OHS resource; however, a senior manager has been assigned the OHS function in addition to their role as a production coordinator. A committee has been formed that participates in the functional aspects of OHS activities.

Our consultant attends to the client once a fortnight to assist with:

• developing strategic plans
• undertaking workplace inspections with the workplace contact
• facilitating appropriate risk assessments and work task analyses
• facilitating the consultative process
• conducting incident investigations
• developing systems and documentation
• conducting training
• assisting in the Return to Work Processes
